LAGOS – Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Dr. Abdul-Jhalil Tafawa-Balewa, urges Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Tafawa-Balewa mentioned that Tinubu took over a nation on the verge of bankruptcy and is making significant efforts to lead it towards improvement.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos, the PDP leader emphasized the challenging nature of revitalizing a country facing collapse, highlighting the necessity for substantial work to restructure the nation and address its numerous critical challenges. Tafawa-Balewa, a consultant nuclear chemist specializing in food preservation, further recommended to Tinubu the trimming down of ministries, currently at 48, as a means to cut governance expenses and redirect funds towards national progress. “He (President Tinubu) has to modernize by appointing technocrats with up-to-date expertise to oversee the ministries.

The focus should be on reducing the number of ministers,” as stated by Tafawa-Balewa. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of enhancing security measures to combat kidnappings, insurgency, and other security challenges nationwide..
