Birth: November 23, 1943 Death: October 13, 2024 Timothy J. Hyde, II OBITUARY Timothy J. Hyde II, 80, of Newington, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 13, 2024, surrounded by his devoted family.

A cherished husband for 59 years to Bonnie Currier Hyde, their love was a cornerstone of his life. Born in Hartford on November 23, 1943, Tim was the son of the late Timothy and Veronica Purdy Hyde. A proud graduate of Bulkeley High School’s class of 1962, Tim served his country with honor in the U.



S. Army during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism, values that shaped him throughout his life.

Tim built a successful career as a Telecommunications Marketing and IT Executive, working with Southern New England Telephone and Aetna Insurance before retiring. He was a passionate supporter of UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball and loved spending time on the golf course with his closest friends, enjoying many of Connecticut’s finest courses. He loved spending the winters in Jupiter Florida soaking up the sunshine and ocean.

Above all else, Tim was a man devoted to his family. His marriage to Bonnie was marked by profound love and partnership. He was a dedicated father to his daughters, Elizabeth and Allison, guiding them with a steady hand and a full heart.

Tim instilled in his girls the virtues of hard work, compassion, and integrity. He took great pride in their accomplishments, and his love for them was evident in every word and gesture. Being a grandfather to Tim and Karlene and a great-grandfather to Ryland brought him immense happiness.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie, and his daughters, Elizabeth (Neil) Welles of Newington and Allison (Thomas) Ganley of Newington. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Timothy (Kayla) Welles of Rocky Hill, and Karlene Welles (Cameron Rivest) of Newington, as well as his great-grandchild, Ryland Welles of Rocky Hill. In addition, step grandchildren TJ (Lisa) and Grant Ganley.

Tim is fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marybeth DeMaio, and his brother, Michael Hyde. A celebration of Tim’s life will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill.

Calling hours will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service.

He will be laid to rest with military honors at Rose Hill Cemetery. Donations can be made in Timothy’s memory to the Humane Society, Russell St., Newington CT.
