Do you ever feel like the world is ending? Not to be a downer, but sometimes things can feel pretty dire. There might be days when you wonder just where humanity is headed. If you're a parent, like today's guest, you might also wonder what kind of world we're leaving for the next generation.

Slipping Away is the name of songwriter and comedian Tim Heidecker 's latest album. In this session, Heidecker and Very Good Band bassist Eliana Athayde talk about writing songs that explore anxiety, parenthood and the post-apocalypse. Don't worry if that sounds a little too dark — Heidecker also talks about finally writing his baseball song and eating a very bad chicken dinner while on tour.
