Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia recently recalled his time as a dialogue writer for , which starred Shah Rukh in the title role. The filmmaker revealed that the superstar slept on the bus floor in the lack of vanity vans and also picked chairs for everyone. Scroll down to read more! Tigmanshu Dhulia revealed in a recent interview with Mashable India that Shah Rukh Khan used to sleep on the bus floor while filming Mani Ratnam’s 1998 film because there weren’t any vanity vans.



Dhulia, who initially collaborated with SRK in remembered that they would travel on roads while filming in Ladakh. The musical romantic-thriller starred Manisha Koirala, Preity Zinta, Mita Vasisht, Arundhati Roy, Raghubir Yadav, Zohra Sehgal, Sanjay Mishra, and others. The film was set against the premise of Assamese insurgency.

Tigmanshu Dhulia further recalled that he never prevented anyone from boarding the bus while he was asleep. He went on to say that Shah Rukh could have refused them entry because he was the movie’s star. The filmmaker continued, saying that he should have had uninterrupted time to sleep for 30 minutes as a celebrity, but that never happened during the shoot.

“The passage where people walk, Shah Rukh would take a nap there during lunch for 30 minutes. But we (crew members) had things in the bus, so we would keep going in and out. Sometimes, we would go over him to get a jacket or something, but he never objected to anything, ” Dhulia said.
