The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast partly to generally cloudy conditions in the hilly regions of the country today. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds is likely at some places in Koshi Province and other hilly areas. Similar weather conditions are also expected at a few locations across the rest of the country.
Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected at one or two places in Koshi Province. Light snowfall is also likely at a few locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions. Tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, especially in the hilly areas.
The rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly fair conditions. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is forecast at a few places in Koshi and Gandaki provinces and at one or two locations in Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. There is also a chance of light snowfall at one or two spots in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Kathmandu Valley will see partly to generally cloudy skies this afternoon, with brief rain or thundershowers possible. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 23 and 25°C, while nighttime temperatures may dip to 13–15°C. The chance of rainfall in the Valley this afternoon and evening is estimated at 30 percent.
