Metro Manila and 10 provinces in Luzon are expected to experience moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds Monday afternoon. In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 10:49 a.m.

It may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas. Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides.
Earlier in the day, PAGASA said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is hoisted over 11 areas in Luzon after the low pressure area east of Aurora developed into Tropical Depression Gener. In its 8 a.
m. bulletin, PAGASA said the following areas are under TCWS No. 1: Gener is seen to make landfall over Isabela or Aurora in the next 24 hours and intensify as a tropical storm on Wednesday after emerging over the West Philippine Sea.
