Three Stars: Miami vs Virginia Tech

The Miami Hurricanes barely survived a game against the Virginia Tech Hokies tonight at Hard Rock Stadium, 38-34. The Canes played from behind for most of the night, but made plays when it mattered most. Let’s get to the three stars of the game.

1. Cam Ward Cam’s Heisman campaign both lost and gained momentum tonight. His fumble on Miami’s first possession was bad.

His two interceptions were momentum killers. He was going to lose the game for us! What were his stats, you ask? Cam went 24-38 for 343 yards and 4 touchdowns, plus 57 rushing yards and a rushing TD. Pretty good.

Also, he made what might have been his Heisman play with a flip-pass to tight end Riley Williams in the fourth quarter as he was being sacked. 2.Isaiah Horton Miami’s emerging wide receiver had three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown tonight.

It just happened to be the game winning touchdown. That shows how much trust he has with Cam and the coaching staff. Just as signifiant was Horton donning a #43 jersey and playing defensive back on the last couple plays of the game.

Horton was in there to make sure the last pass of the game was incomplete, WHICH IT WAS! Isaiah continues to impress this season. 3.My resiliency as a Miami fan I felt great after the Canes went up 14-7.

I assumed we had control of the game and would roll from there. Even at halftime, I would have bet money on Miami winning. So much so I tried to but apparently Hard Rock Bet hates me and I couldn’t deposit despite trying several different methods.

Whatever. Anyway, I had faith in the 2024 Miami Hurricanes. I knew their offense could come through when it mattered.

.and they did. I couldn’t be happier that Miami won, but I can feel it now, and will feel much more tomorrow that will somehow resemble a hangover.

Hmm. Damnit. Honorable mention: Elijah Arroyo - Miami’s top tight end had two catches for 88 yards and a TD on an awesome play-fake by Cam.

Arroyo is making himself more money every week he plays and I love it. Who were your three stars of the game? Let us know in the comments below. GO CANES!.
