Three held after boy sodomized, murdered in Godhra

Vadodara: Three persons have been held for the alleged sodomy and murder of a boy at Vejalpur near Godhra in Panchmahal district. The boy's body was disposed of in a pond, where it was discovered late on Friday evening. A friend of the victim's, also a minor, took him to two youths — Arif Padva and Imran Pathiya — on the pretext of going out to have some food on Thursday night.

The friend was then dropped back on a motorcycle by Pathiya. Padva and Pathiya then allegedly sodomized the boy at a secluded spot and strangled him, fearing he would reveal the crime to his family and cause trouble for them. The duo threw the body into a pond near Chalali Crossroads.



An offence was registered at Vejalpur police station late on Friday night. All three accused have been apprehended. They have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act .
