FIREFIGHTERS rushed to the scene of a house fire in Leigh last night.

FIREFIGHTERS rushed to the scene of a house fire in Leigh last night. Shortly after 9pm on Sunday, April 6, a fire was reported at a property along Westleigh Lane in Leigh. Three fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze, close to the junction with Isherwood Street.

Fire crews are reported to have stayed at the scene for around an hour and twenty minutes to make sure the scene was safe, and there are no reports of any injuries. READ > Four properties hit with closure orders after repeated anti-social behaviour A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "At around 9.10pm on Sunday, April 6, three fire engines from Hindley, Leigh and Atherton fire stations attended a house fire on Westleigh Lane, Leigh.



“Crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels and lighting to extinguish the fire and departed after one hour and 20 minutes in attendance.".
