It’s transfer deadline day and Manchester United’s business is not finished yet. It’s been a decent summer for Manchester United, who have welcomed four new players into Erik ten Hag’s squad, and they are almost certain to add a fifth before the window closes. Earlier in the summer, Ten Hag reunited with defensive duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui as the former Ajax pair were recruited in a double signing from Bayern Munich.

Joshua Zirkzee, who has already made an impact with his late winner against Fulham on the opening day, arrived from Bologna and centre-back starlet Leny Yoro was captured from Lille. That’s not a bad summer of business already and with, at least one player set to arrive on Friday, it could get even better before the window closes. Here are three deals United could still make on deadline day.

Manuel Ugarte PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte has all but sealed his move to United and it’s just a matter of waiting for the club to make the official announcement. Ten Hag has been eager to add some defensive bite to his midfield and United have swooped in to sign the Uruguayan just a year after he arrived in Paris. The club will pay an initial £42.

2m up-front, with an additional £8.5 in potential add-ons. Ugarte completed his medical Thursday and, unless there are any unexpected, last-minute hitches, the deal should be confirmed at some point on deadline day.

Raheem Sterling United have been surprisingly linked with Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling this past week, with a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho heading the other way touted. Sterling has been frozen out of Enzo Maresca’s side, with his No.7 shirt handed to new signing Pedro Neto, and Chelsea are looking to get rid before the window closes.

With Juventus also interested in Sancho, the move could still happen even if he doesn’t go to Stamford Bridge. Though finances make the deal difficult, especially Sterling’s high wages, United could take the winger on a loan deal. Ben Chilwell Another Chelsea castoff linked with a move to Old Trafford is Ben Chilwell.

United are in need of a left-back as they have been forced to play Diogo Dalot on his unnatural side due to the continued injury woes of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. However, it’s hard to see the injury-prone Chilwell, though a talented player, resolving the issue completely. TalkSPORT claimed last week that United had been offered the chance to sign Chilwell but the speculation has gone cold since and this one appears unlikely to happen.

Sekou Kone United are expected to sign at least one player on deadline day, though it isn’t a major arrival for the first-team. Instead, it will be another addition to the club’s youth ranks, following the signings of Samuel Lusale and Chido Obi-Martin, in the form of Sekou Kone. The 18-year-old Malian midfielder underwent a medical on Thursday ahead of his £1.
