Those Damn Crows are currently Number One in the UK midweek album charts – just head of Bon Iver and Oasis.The Welsh alt-rockers are on track to score their first Number One album with their fourth studio album ‘God Shaped Hole’, which dropped last Friday (April 11). The band have previously peaked at Number Three with 2023’s ‘Inhale/Exhale’, and achieved a Top 20 record with ‘Point Of No Return’ (2020).

They’re currently ahead of Bon Iver, who dropped the long-awaited fifth record ‘sABLE, fABLE‘ last Friday. NME hailed it as a “creative rebirth” in a four star review, adding: “Though some fans feared this might well be an epilogue to the Bon Iver project, it comes across as more of a rebirth.”Meanwhile, last weekend also saw Record Store Day celebrate the release of over 300 exclusive vinyl releases.



Oasis’ greatest hits collection ‘Time Flies...

(1994-2009)’, which was released in vinyl for the first time, is currently sitting at third on the charts. RSD Ambassador Sam Fender’s exclusive EP ‘Me And The Dog’ is also set to debut at Number Five.Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher‘s ‘Acoustic Sessions’ and Gracie Abrams‘ ‘The Secret Of Us – Live From Radio City’ are expected to debut at Number Seven and Eight respectively on the charts.

Just trailing behind the Top 10 are other RSD re-releases – David Bowie‘s live album ‘Ready, Set, Go! (Live, Riverside Studios ’03)’ and Charli XCX‘s 2017 mixtape ‘Number 1 Angel’ are both set to appear in the Top 20 next Friday.The number of indie record shops in the UK reached a 10-year high last year. 461 indie record shops were registered in the UK – 122 more than 10 years ago.
