Historically, on-screen kisses were rare and often censored, but modern Indian cinema has become more accepting of romantic scenes. But there was a film released in the 2000s with an impressive star cast that was massively trolled. Dhoom 2 was directed by Sanjay Gandhvi and produced by Yash Raj Films in 2006.
The story revolves around Mr. A, a high-tech international thief whose next target is Mumbai where he meets Sunehri, a clever thief who offers him partnership. They together plan some daring robbery while ACP Jai wants to catch them.
Dhoom 2 became a blockbuster immediately after its release. The action thriller film was made with a budget of Rs 35 crore and collectively earned Rs 81 crore across India. AIshwarya-Hrithik’s film received positive reviews from the masses.
People appreciated their on-screen chemistry. However, one scene from the film sparked significant controversy. The film we are talking about is the iconic action thriller series of Dhoom.

Fans questioned Aishwarya’s decision of doing an intimate scene despite her iconic status. To which Aishwarya replied, “I did it once prominently in the movie Dhoom and it was so topical, and you’ll be surprised, I mean I actually got a couple of notices, legal notices, from some people in the country turning around and saying “You are iconic, you’re an example to our girls you have led your life in such an exemplary manner, they’re not comfortable with you doing this on screen so why did you?.
” Aishwarya further added that she had already said no to multiple films because of the intimate scenes. She said, “And I was like wow, I’m just an actor, doing my job, and here I am being asked to offer an explanation for a couple of seconds in a two, three hour piece of cinema. It was around the same time that the interest in the western world from Hollywood, or European cinema, English cinema, from the industry there was a lot interest in me and the possibility of me working overseas, and I had already declined a couple of scripts purely on the basis of not being comfortable with the very physical scenes and the kissing because I’d never done that on screen and I just wasn’t very comfortable with the idea.
