Unlike many Bollyood celebs, who end up marrying someone from within the industry, actress Madhuri Dixit took the path less trodden, and tied the knot with (then) US based cardiovascular surgeon Dr Shriram Nene in 1999. The couple, after spending more than a decade in Denver relocated to India in 2011, while their sons Arin and Ryan are studying abroad. However, many always wonder how did Madhuri and Shriram, two people from totally different universes meet? Recalling the same, Madhuri Dixit once mentioned that it was her brother know sneakily introduced her and Nene, and the rest is history.

In 2016, on a talk show hosted by Anupam Kher, Madhuri Dixit narrated the account of her first meeting with Shriram Nene. She said that it all started in Los Angeles when her brother sneakily invited Nene’s family over to their home. She had a feeling that once everyone will leave her family will nudge her and ask her about one person in particular.



She wasn’t new to situations like this, and prior to that particular day, she used to dodge the bullet. However, when it came to Shriram Nene, she was genuinely impressed by him and for the first time, she confessed that she liked him. The fact that Shriram didn’t know who she was, and got to know her first as a person and then as a movie star, was very refreshing for Madhuri.

On the workfront, the Tezaab star was recently seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The Kartik Aaryan led starrer entered its name in the record books as it crossed the Rs 200 crore mark on Sunday. The film's meteoric rise at the box office has already surpassed the lifetime earnings of its predecessor, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', making it Kartik Aaryan’s highest-grossing film to date.

The movie which was released on the extended Diwali weekend, concluded its first week with an impressive Rs 158.25 crore, the film opened its second weekend on a slightly lower note with a collection of Rs 9.25 crore nett on Friday.

However, it quickly picked up momentum, drawing Rs 15.5 crore on Saturday and an estimated Rs 16.5 crore on Sunday, according to early reports from Sacnilk.
