Recently, one such commercial surfaced on the internet, taking people on a trip down memory lane. The one in question is an iconic and hilarious Pepsi commercial starring the coolest Y2K squad: Saif Ali Khan , Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, and Fardeen Khan. Back then, all four were often seen in cheeky, over-the-top commercials of the brand.
In this particular advertisement, Saif crashes into a fancy party, wearing just a black vest and shorts. He comes uninvited, all just for a bottle of Pepsi. Just as he is about to sip, Preity stops him and tells him that he won’t be getting the cold drink at that party.
Saif then quips, “To theek hai, fir mein chaddi utaar lu (Alright then, I should take off the underwear)?" A horrified Kareena chimes in, “Pepsi ke liye ye harkat (All this for a Pepsi)?" And in sheer panic and disgust, Preity hands him back the bottle. As the two girls were planning to kick him out of the party, Saif delivered the ultimate punchline, “Abhi to maine chaddi kaha utaari hai yaar (I still haven’t taken off the underwear)." And then comes the hilarious plot twist.
Saif and Fardeen were actually on a mission to take down a piece of underwear that got stuck to a tree somehow. Turns out the two planned this to steal some bottles of Pepsi to chug on the sunny, hot days of the summer season. As soon as the advertisement made its way to social media, it left viewers in stitches.
