‘This is so cute what the heck’ shoppers cry as Rizzle Kicks star models Lidl’s viral ‘croissant bag’

LIDL'S new Croissant Bag took took the internet by storm when it was announced last month. The £50 clutch quickly sold out and Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens looks to be one of the lucky few to nab one. The hip hop artist was recently spotted toting the hottest handbag of the year.

Designed to resemble a baked good, the accessory sold out in less than two minutes last week. Jordan was seen sporting the bag as he walked around the Greenwich area of London last Wednesday. The accessory was designed by Nik Bentel, who was also behind the internet-breaking 'Pasta Bag.

" A separate follower enthusiastically stated: “This is SO CUTE, what the heck?” Most read in Fabulous One Twitter user shared a promo image of the Lidl bakery-themed bag. "The Lidl croissant bag is not a want, it's a need," she wrote in the caption of the image. And if you find yourself agreeing with this sentiment, don't worry, the bag isn't completely out of reach just yet.

Those desperate for the chance to grab one will have a chance at a special London Fashion Week event later this week. The Patisserie Lidl pop-up will showcase the inspiration behind the viral accessory. And shoppers who missed out on the initial sale can get their hands on one of leather handbags.

With the price of the bag remaining at £50, it is being sold on a first-come first-served basis. LIDL has published a new list of desired locations for potential new stores. The list includes, amongst many others, the following towns and cities: Bristol Derby Liverpool London Manchester Nottingham Oxford Southampton Swansea Birmingham Sheffield Cambridge Edinburgh To see the full list, click here.

The pop-up will also be serving a range of Lidl’s baked goods – with an abundance of the handbag’s muse, the ‘All Butter Croissant’. It is taking place at 55A Dean Street, London, W1D 6AG between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on Friday 13th September and Saturday 14th September. Designer Nik Bentel previously spoke about the inspiration behind his unique bags.

“I’ve always believed that design should take the mundane and make it memorable," he explained. "Working with a brand like Lidl for our first UK partnership, that is so well-known for its witty and humorous relationship with its customers, was a no-brainer.
