In 2000, Ameesha made her Bollywood debut with the movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. The movie also stars Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, which was also his debut. KNPH became a big hit at the box office.
Both Ameesha and Hrithik became overnight stars with the romantic drama. Later, Ameesha Patel appeared in Gadar with Sunny Deol, which was a hit. However, her next films, like Humraaz or Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, didn't work well at the box office.
Ameesha's career hit a rock bottom as she gave 20 flops in a row. Some of the movies were Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage Hai, Yeh Hai Jalwa, Mangal Pandey and many more. In 2007, Ameesha appeared in the movies Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
