It is the sequel to KGF: Chapter 1, which was released in 2018. The film received widespread love from the audience and became a massive success at the box office. Sanjay Dutt made his Kannada debut with KGF 2, playing the role of main antagonist Adheera.

KGF: Chapter 2 is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and is produced by Vijay Kiragandur, under the Hombale Films banner. Apart from Yash portraying the lead character of Rocky Bhai and Sanjay Dutt as the main antagonist, the film also starred Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. Released in the original Kannada version and dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil, KGF Chapter 2 created a havoc at the box office.
The action drama grossed Rs 719 crore in its first week and became the fourth Indian movie to cross Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide. Moreover, it’s total worldwide gross was Rs 12,000 crore to Rs 1,250 crore. KGF Chapter 2 became the second fastest movie to collect Rs 1000 crore after Baahubali 2.
