T'puram: Amid the departmental inquiry against Thiruvallam sub-inspector (SI) Thomas H and his team over the alleged flaws in an NDPS case to support the accused, the SI claimed there was a human error when data was recorded and it was not intentional. Thiruvananthapuram DCP Nakul Rajendra Deshmukh also gave a clean chit to him as preliminary findings ruled out a deliberate sabotage attempt from the SI's side but spotted some human errors when data was entered in the FIR. The allegation is that the SI deliberately recorded a lesser quantity of MDMA than actually seized.
It was also alleged that he did not record details of hashish oil recovered from the accused and about a car owned by one of the accused in the FIR. However, cops claimed that no hashish oil was seized from the accused. "CPO who prepared the FIR recorded 0.
06g of MDMA instead of 0.66g. However, in the mahasar, the data was entered correctly.
Details of the car in which the accused travelled were recorded in the FIR and mahasar, but one more car was involved in the crime, and the probe team came to know about it only later. Mahasar cannot be corrected to enter new details so we prepared a new mahasar to add details of the second car in it," said Thomas. Shajahan, Maheen both of Vallakadavu, Venu of Vellayani and Ashique of Nedumam were arrested with the drugs near Kayalkkara at Thiruvallam on Wednesday morning.
Police seized 30g of ganja, Rs 65,000 and an airgun from them during the vehicle check based on a tip-off..
