According to a viral Reddit post, this family ordered a Rubik's Cube cake and got this "masterpiece" instead.

A teen’s birthday cake order is puzzling the internet in more ways than one. On March 19, a Reddit user named Zach about the result of a custom cake order for his brother that didn’t quite meet expectations. The post has since gone viral, with over 107,000 upvotes.

“The cake we asked for vs the masterpiece we got,” he captioned the post. Viewers are treated to two very different photos of cake: the first image, the inspiration, shows a perfect-looking cake made to look like a , the timeless puzzle toy that has stumped many a mind for more than 50 years. Its perfection seems to stem from the fact that it and isn’t actually real.



Regardless, it isn’t anywhere close to what he received. The second image shows what his family got: a wonky, cube-like dessert. Instead of using the standard six colors in a Rubik’s Cube, the baker went with only two, placing the squares in a seemingly random pattern.

Of course, commenters had a lot to say on the sugary situation. “Whoever made that cake definitely cannot solve a Rubik’s cube,” one person, and another , “Can’t solve a cake recipe either.” “I’ve never attempted to bake anything but a potato in my life and I can make a better cake than that,” someone else.

“Damn, I didn’t know one could commit fraud in cake form,” another Redditor. Zach, who lives in Kut, Iraq, says that , his mom found someone on Facebook to complete the order for his brother’s 14th birthday, which he admits “was our mistake.” “He wasn’t too pleased with the cake but he kind of laughed it off,” Zach tells TODAY.
