ROCHESTER — Kevin and Megan Wilgenbusch's baby had a due date of Dec. 24, so they talked about a potential predicament: how to celebrate Christmas and their child's birthday at the same time. But their son, Milo Steven, decided to make a late appearance instead, becoming the first baby born at OMC Hospital in 2025.
ADVERTISEMENT "Apparently he didn't like Christmas," said Logan Wilgenbusch. "He wanted to come up with a headline." Milo is the Kasson family's first child.
During their yearslong journey to having their son, Wilgenbusch said they worked both with Olmsted Medical Center and Mayo Clinic. Ultimately, they arrived at OMC Hospital's BirthCenter on the final afternoon of 2024 to deliver Milo. He was born at 8:24 a.
m. on Jan. 1, 2025, weighing 9 pounds and 14 ounces.
"It was a pretty special moment for us here — he's finally here, and all the hard work that we put in was worth it," Wilgenbusch said. Wilgenbusch said he and his wife are thankful for the care they received at the BirthCenter. "I know our doctor — she was the one that helped us have him — so she stayed late last night (into) this morning to deliver him," he said.
