Well, Jason Isaacs has certainly given us a show to remember in the latest episode of The White Lotus. new BrightcovePlayer('6103636748001', '1656287865355575363', 'zf2tqmk2', 'brightcove-video-player-41b35dc51a');His character, Timothy Ratliff, decides to unwind with a few prescription pills and ends up flashing his family (and the entire audience) when his robe splits open. Because, you know, that’s exactly how you want to spend your family vacation – with a wardrobe malfunction that’ll be etched in everyone’s memory forever.
The PG version of what went down. (Image: The White Lotus)Isaacs seems pretty chill about it all, joking that full-frontal scenes are now a standard part of his contract. “Yeah, it is now in my contract for every show I do, so we’ll see,” he told Entertainment Weekly with a laugh.
“It’ll get easier, hopefully.” We’re not sure if he’s serious, but if so, we’re looking forward to a lot more..
. um, “dramatic” scenes in the future. His co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger, who’s also had his share of nude scenes in the series, chimed in with a cheeky comment: “You should be asking what it was like for us to watch it!” So fair bestie.
Hope you’re okay!!!But beneath the jokes, Isaacs’ performance is part of a bigger story. They play the most cursed father and son duo. (Photo by Lauren DeCicca/Getty Images for Four Seasons)His character is on the verge of financial ruin and personal collapse.
Isaacs described the challenge of playing this downward spiral, saying, “It was actually quite challenging — I remember reading the scripts thinking, ‘Wow, I’ve got to keep my powder dry for five or six episodes, and then this shit really kicks off.'”Bravo fans will be happy to know that Isaacs really dug deep for this role, even adopting a Southern accent inspired by ex-Southern Charm star (and walking red flag) Thomas Ravenel. “I mean, you’ve got to be as real as you can.
And yeah, there was some inner gear changes required,” he said. “The audience will see whether I did or not. It’ll be up to them to judge, but I just remember thinking, ‘I’ve got to go big — go big or go home.
’”For Isaacs, it’s all about going big or going home. “You’ve got to get there. I mean, you’ve got to be as real as you can,” he said.
He reflected on the process, “I just remember thinking, ‘I better dig deep and produce something here,’ because there’s a lot of parts you can go through and tell a very dramatic story without your character going through anything extreme. But there’s some big, old acting coming up.”And I believe it! Isaacs told PEDESTRIAN.
TV before season three premiered that the show is taking things to a whole new level.“It’s bigger, but it’s richer and deeper and more profound. It deals with questions as well as sex, drugs and rock and roll and tofu and all the rest of it.
It deals with really powerful, existential questions about who we are, what we are,” he said.As long as there are more robe scenes I’ll be happy!!
