The White Lotus’ Sam Nivola Explains Why Lochlan Didn’t Wash the Blender Before Using It (Spoilers)

Sam Nivola is opening up about THAT scene from the season three finale of The White Lotus.SPOILERS AHEAD: Consider yourself warned if you read any further!The 21-year-old actor appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about the finale on Monday (April 7) in New York City.Sam opened up about his character Lochlan’s decision to make a protein shake using that dirty blender and why he thinks his character didn’t wash it first.

Lochlan’s dad Timothy (Jason Isaacs) had crushed up a poisonous fruit in the blender in an attempt to kill his family, which he decided not to do in the end. Timothy never cleaned the blender though and Lochlan decided to use the dirty blender to make himself a protein shake the next morning. He immediately got sick after drinking the shake and appeared to be dead, but later was revived by his dad.

So, why didn’t he clean it?“My answer is that I was expecting that Saxon had made a protein shake in it,” Sam said, referring to his character’s older brother played by Patrick Schwarzenegger.Sam added, “I didn’t know — I thought it was just leftover protein. So I’m like, ‘You know what? A little extra protein never hurt anybody.
