Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions This headline: “For Black Women, ‘America Has Revealed to Us Her True Self’” — The New York Times, Thursday We say: Boy, do the Times and its writers hate America! In a “news analysis,” Erica L. Green and Maya King argue that the election proves Americans would rather elect someone as supposedly horrible as Donald Trump “than send a woman of color to the White House.” Never mind runaway inflation, the open border and onslaught of migrants or a world aflame .
Talk about myopic! This praise: “This really was a historic flawlessly run campaign.” — MSNBC’s Joy Reid, Tuesday We say: Flawlessly run? Please. Reid blames voters for Kamala Harris’ loss rather than Harris herself.
She says white women failed to step up and cites the difficulty of a black woman running for president. Indeed, Reid argues, Harris had “every prominent celebrity” backing her — as if that’s the right way to earn votes. Sorry, Joy.
Harris was an atrocious candidate who couldn’t defend her disastrous record and failed to show how she’d make things better for Americans. Voters weren’t remotely the problem. This column: “Women Won’t Let Trump Turn the US Into Iran” — Francis Wilkinson, Bloomberg, Tuesday We say: Need a definition of Trump Derangement Syndrome? Try this: At Bloomberg, Francis Wilkinson somehow sees the story of a young woman recently hauled off by authorities in Iran for disrobing in protest of hijab laws as a warning against “women’s subjugation” by Trump, MAGA and men in America .
There’s not a scintilla of evidence of any such threat here. Here’s hoping Wilkinson gets the help he needs. This analysis: “A huge part of the story is .
. . Elon Musk, who .
. . is a disinformation propagandist.
” — Ex-Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki, Tuesday We say: Psaki, like fellow lefties, is furious Musk won’t let them control public debate and censor those they disagree with but instead has opened X to speech from anyone. Memo to Psaki: Free speech is not “disinformation.” If you think someone’s spreading lies on X, feel free to post a correction.
