Max George provided an update on his health after spending some time in the hospital. The 36-year-old musician, who is a member of the band The Wanted , revealed that he had been hospitalized earlier this month to address some “issues” with his heart. On Saturday (December 21), he told fans that he underwent a surgical procedure and let them know how he was doing.

Taking to Instagram, Max said that he had a pacemaker installed. He even shared a photo of his chest where it was inserted. “Say hello to my little friend,” he wrote, adding, “Given the last 10 days, this is the best Christmas present I could have ever wished for.
” He continued, writing, “Pacemaker is in. Operation took around 2 and half hours. The main issue being some of my veins had collapsed where the wires were meant to go.
.. But the hospital surgeons, doctors and nurses at the NHS have been incredible.
I owe everything to them.” Max said that the incision for the surgery was located underneath “a very special tattoo,” which reads “04.08.
1988.” This appears to be a tribute to his late bandmate Tom Parker , who was born on August 4, 1988. Tom tragically passed away at the age of 33 in March 2022.
Seemingly referencing Tom , Max wrote that he was “sure [the pacemaker] is being looked after.” The musician noted that he still had to get some work done to address “inflamed lymph nodes on my lungs.” However, he was in good spirits, writing, “That’ll be easy work.
