After playing Eugene Porter in The Walking Dead , actor Josh McDermitt joined the Suits family as Stuart Lane in Suits LA (Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, CTV.
ca , and the CTV app, available to stream next day on Crave). That means McDermitt has stepped into another role seeped with deep fandom, but in a different way. "The fandom intensity is different, for sure, but it's still intense," McDermitt told Yahoo Canada .
"Each of the actors have fans that follow us from project to project. We don't want to waste their time." "But the fact that we do have the added element of Suits being kind of the foundation of what we're doing, yeah, there's some pressure there.
And the thing that I'll say is, the fans of Suits are excited. People are telling me all the time, they're so excited for the show, they're loving the show, and that's great. .
.. There's no reason why we're doing this show other than to give something to the fans and the audience that they can enjoy.
" Watch Suits LA on Crave 'He's going to meet someone who really throws him off his game' A significant development in last week's episode of Suits LA was seeing a reconciliation between Stuart and Stephen Amell's character Ted Black. "I think it's really important for these two guys, who've been best friends for 20 plus years, to start the process of healing," McDermitt said. "There's a lot of bad behaviour between the two of them and I think even Stuart mentioned to Rick at one point, one of the reasons I left Ted is we didn't always bring out the best in each other.
" That also followed the feud between the two character becoming physical, with a fight in Episode 5 of Suits LA . "Stepping into this show, I don't want to speak for Stephen, but I get the sense that neither one of us really expected to do many stunts over here," McDermitt said. "It was fun to go, 'oh we get to punch each other and I get to tackle you.
'" "We kind of knocked it out real quick. But it was also really great in the evolution of these characters. .
.. It just makes the seeds of reconciliation in the next episode that much more important to happen.
So it was fun to punch and it was fun to get Bryan Greenberg involved. ..
. He was supposed to hold me back, and he wasn't expecting me to come at Stephen with such force. And even he was like, 'That was awesome.
I've never done anything like that. That was so cool!'" Moving forward, we'll be watching to see if this reconciliation lasts, and the impact it has on their respective coworkers. But McDermitt teased that we'll dive deeper into Stuart's abilities as an attorney as the show continues.
"We're going to see Stuart, as he's one of the best criminal defence attorneys in the country, ...
he's going to start to question whether or not that's true," McDermitt said. "I think he's going to meet someone who really throws him off his game a little bit, and it's going to be fun to see him kind of recover from that, if he does." But in terms of what really appeals to McDermitt about playing Stuart, the actor highlighted how "complicated" and in some ways unpredictable the character is.
"He's a really interesting guy, really kind of a complicated individual, I think," McDermitt said. "He's one of those characters ..
. that whenever they enter a scene it's like, oh boy what's about to happen? I want that out of Stuart. Whether or not he does something crazy every time, you just want that guy who's going to turn the temperature up in the room.
