Every pass that Shedeur Sanders throws to Travis Hunter today will be doubly important to the Giants. And every pass that Hunter turns around and defends will complete a must-see trifecta. The Giants sent general manager Joe Schoen, his top scouting lieutenants and assistant coaches representing both sides of the ball to Colorado’s pro day, where the expectation is Sanders will go through a scripted throwing session and the two-way marvel Hunter will run receiver routes as well as showcase his defensive back movement skills.
It would be a surprise if either prospect runs a 40-yard dash, but the participant list for drills can change on a whim at a pro day. The most likely NFL Draft scenario right now — with the caveat that things change rapidly — is that the Giants will have to choose between two longtime friends with the No. 3 pick, after the Titans select quarterback Cam Ward and the Browns add edge Abdul Carter.
