.. In August 2024, Simmone teased a return to screens in what fans hoped would be a McLeod's Daughters reunion.
Taking an important video call in a room lit up by studio lighting, the star shared quite the mystery post, asking fans to guess what the big news could be. "It doesn't matter if you fall down, it's whether you get back up that counts," she quoted alongside the photos. "There's lights.
A camera. And some action. 🎥 Tell me what you think is going on here?🤔," she teased.
Fans begged for it to be a reunion with one follower commenting: "Still holding out hope for that McLeod's Daughters reunion!! 🤞🏻." Scroll through for Simmone's reply. "There's ALWAYS hope for that!!!🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼," the star said with three fingers crossed emojis.
"Audition??? 🔥🙌," another fan guessed in comments, to which Simmone said "kinda sorta!!! 😂." "Finally the MCD sequel???" a third wrote. "Wouldn't that be the BEST news EVER!!!🤞🏼💃🏻❤️😜," Simmone teased back.
We certainly think so! This isn't the first time one of Simmone's post sent fans into a frenzy about a possible reunion...
Earlier that month, Simmone delighted fans with a throwback of her and Bridie Carter, who of course played Tess on the show, reuniting during the 2020 pandemic. "I hadn't really seen 'anyone' for months but I was heading north to get my dreads tightened, the restrictions had lifted (a bit) so I made the quick dash north," Simmone explained. She made a detour to visit Bridie, where they caught up and also filmed a video for an online competition.
"We had a fabulous arvo at Bridie's stunning house and property in the Byron Bay hinterland. We talked a lot about all the craziness and absurdity of the pandemic but mainly we were laughing!!!" She concluded that another catch-up between the pair was long overdue. "It's definitely time for another catchup Bri.
...
so lets just say 'I'll see you guys soon' 😉" Bridie was quick to respond: "Yes, it has been way tooooo long - so, SEE YOU SOON SIM ♥️♥️♥️♥️" Fans of the series loved seeing them together and wondered if it pointed towards a bigger reunion. "This better be a hint that McLeod's is coming back 😂" former MAFS groom Liam Cooper commented. "Ohhhhhh nooooooo is that what you think? I'm so sorry but unless there's a secret plan that I don't know about🤨.
...
its not coming back," Simmone replied. Liam said he hoped it would one day. "Hey me too.
...
I'll forever remain with hope in my heart.❤️" Simmone agreed. Simmone Jade recently shared photos from a "wonderful long weekend" away with family and friends.
During the time, Simmone's 14-year-old son Madigan also marked a special milestone – his first shave. "Madigan had his first shave(thanks to newly appointed Uncle Luke)," Simmone wrote in a lengthy caption. The group were celebrating Simmone's sister-in-law Rachael's 40th birthday.
"Lots of laughs, cards, daggy dancing,a couple of cheeky spicy margaritas ,mini beers that aren't beer at all,a riverside stall run by the kids, fishing, yabby pumping, great food," Simmone wrote. "Caught up with old friends and new ones were made. All in all it was a lil ripper of a weekend and I can't wait to do it all again soon!!!" We'll definitely cheers to that.

In June 2024, Simmone was one of only three trekkers to make it to the top of the mountain in The Summit 2024 Grand Finale. Simmone walked away with $100,000 in prize money after a shock final twist revealed the final $536,000 did not need to divided equally. Charlotte won the power to divide it how she wanted.
She chose to take $336,000 while Simmone and Mat walked away with an even $100,000. Simmone told 9Entertainment the unequal split stung. "I was shattered, and I'm still eternally grateful because that money will definitely help but I won't be able to build the shed house that I'd planned to," the 50-year-old said.
She reflected on her Summit experience on Instagram, and one of her former McLeod's castmates was quick to share their support...
After Simmone shared a post about her experience on The Summit , her former cast mate Rodger Corser jumped in to share his well wishes. "Congrats Simmy, Corsers are super proud of you!" he wrote. Simmone replied "thanks buddy!!!" and promised the drinks were on her next time they saw each other.
Throughout her time on The Summit , Simmone opened up about the tough few years she'd had...
After a stint on The Summit , it seems Simmone isn't ready to say goodbye to being on-screen anytime soon. In fact, in June 2024 she confirmed on Instagram that she's signed up to an acting agent – with the post being captioned, "I'm back, baby!" While Simmone hasn't revealed what types of roles she'll be looking for, she did speak about her hopes of returning to acting in a recent interview with 9Entertainment. "I've been out of the game for a long time," she said.
"I really did want to focus on just being a mum. I wanted to give him my full attention and when you work on a show, on McLeod's sometimes we were working 14 hour days, it takes up so much of your time. "I think it's at least time to have the chat and see where we're at and what's out there.
It might be time to get back into that arena – if I can." Unsurprisingly, Simmone has heard the many rumours about potential reboots or spin-offs of the series. She isn't sure what is next for the beloved series, but she'd be up for whatever creator Posie Graeme-Evans came up with.
"We're still around, the people want it, the people really want to see Xander and Charlotte and what's happened to the kids," she said. "Imagine, they'd all be 18, 19, 20. How cool would that be? It's like how the show began with flashbacks to the young Alex Ryan and Claire.
.." We can't wait to see what role Simmone takes on next! In January 2024, Simone shared a deeply personal insight into her life as she discussed her hair loss journey on social media.
Alongside the photo on the right, Simone revealed: "Nine months ago I realised I had major hair loss due to two years of relentless financial and emotional stress. Eight months ago Madigan shaved my head and I said goodbye to my 8 year old dreadlocks. "Two months were spent almost bald at a #1 as I monitored the loss and waited for potential new growth.
Then I've had six months of pure uninterrupted growth. No cut. No colour.
Just growth. "And I am happy to say the results are in..
..and are pretty bloody good.
I have no bald spots...
hallelujah!!! And as you can see it's just getting long enough for the curls to do their thing." Simone then shared that she was heading on an adventure and was about to switch up her look once more – click to see..
. Since the end of McLeod's , Simone went on to become a real-life jillaroo! "It's just started a career that I wasn't actually looking for, it's kind of been placed in front of me and I just love it and it's what I'm going to do. I thrived out there," the then-49-year-old told 9Entertainment in 2019.

Marshall Napier died in 2022 aged 70 following a brave battle with brain cancer. In August 2023, Jessica wrote on Instagram , "One year 💔 Still so raw.
Still so unfathomable. I miss you. Love you Dad xxxx.

As of February 2023, Rachael Carpani, 42, has been relaxing in Sydney, indulging in a variety of cuisines across the city and the occasional facial.
Her Instagram is the perfect balance of lifestyle, travel and passion, with women's rights and Indigenous justice advocacy featuring strongly throughout. Rachael was admitted to hospital for acute abdominal pain in February 2021 and thanked friends, family and fans for their well wishes . The actress spent a few days in the intensive care unit and was then in the surgical ward, and later revealed she was "on the mend".
The experience prompted the McLeod's Daughters star to encourage her Instagram followers to pay attention to unusual symptoms. "Basically it was a case of me not listening to my body and the pain (I tend to work through pain!!) and allowing myself to get quite ill," she revealed on Instagram . "Yet again, another lesson, especially to women who tend to ignore their own care because 'there's no time' or more important things or people to look after to stop and listen to what your body is trying to tell you.
