The Star's former sports editor Selva passes away

PETALING JAYA: Veteran sportswriter and editor R.D Selva, 78, passed away around 4pm on Thursday afternoon (April 10). He was a former sports editor for the now-defunct Straits Echo in the 1970s, and later served in the same role at The Star.

Selva, who had been battling Parkinson's disease, was also well known as the editor and publisher of popular sports magazines All Sports, Sports Mirror and several FIFA World Cup special editions. His funeral will be held on Friday (April 11), with last rites scheduled at 1.30pm at the MBPJ Crematorium in Kampung Tunku.
