Near the sandy bay is an acclaimed family-run takeaway that dates back more than 100 years.

Scotland has been basking in warm weather lately, but unfortunately it won't last forever. To make the most of the sun while we have it, the Daily Record has chosen a beach as our latest Walk of the Week . Once a week, we choose one hike or beauty spot from around the country and show why it is worth a visit.

This time, it is Eyemouth Beach in the Scottish Borders . The beach is located in the coastal town of Eyemouth, situated around an hour out of Edinburgh by car. Boasting a natural harbour, it is renowned for its gorgeous coastal scenery.

Eyemouth's most notable feature, and a perfect destination for a walk this spring, is its beach . The north-facing bay is backed by a sea wall, and framed by black rocks and the town's harbour. Popular with both locals and tourists far and wide, Eyemouth Beach features soft sand that is perfect to sit and soak up some sun.

According to beach specialists The Beach Guide , there are no dog restrictions either—meaning your furry friend can also enjoy a trip. Eyemouth Beach is also a great place to head if you are a nature lover, as it is teeming with beautiful marine wildlife. Little ones will get a kick out of spotting crabs and starfishes in rock pools, while seals can also usually be seen from the bay.

A trip to the beach wouldn't be complete without a fish supper and an ice cream, which is why Giacopazzi's is an absolute must while you are in Eyemouth. The family-run business, which dates back more than 100 years, serves up both artisan Italian-style gelato and a variety of classic chippy dishes. See below for some images showing why Eyemouth Beach is worth a visit this spring.
