Listen to Story Streaming giant Netflix has officially announced The Roshans, a docu-series offering an exclusive look into the lives and legacy of one of Bollywood’s most iconic families, the Roshans. The series will delve into three generations of the Roshan family, whose contributions to Indian cinema have left an indelible mark. At the centre of the narrative is the late Roshan Lal Nagrath, fondly known as Roshan Saab, a celebrated composer who laid the foundation of the "family’s artistic dynasty".
The docu-series also promises to highlight the contributions of his descendants — filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, composer Rajesh Roshan, and actor Hrithik Roshan. "A profound journey through legacy and love with the family that brought music, magic, and unforgettable moments to Hindi cinema. Watch The Roshans, coming soon, only on Netflix (sic)," announced Netflix.
A post shared by Netflix India (@netflix_in) Directed by Shashi Ranjan and co-produced by Rakesh Roshan, the series includes candid interviews with the family, industry colleagues like Shah Rukh Khan, and friends, offering rare insights into their personal and professional journeys. “We are incredibly excited to partner with Netflix and share previously untold stories that shaped our lives,” the Roshan family said in a statement, adding, “The platform allows us to reach viewers from across the globe, and it’s an honour to showcase our journey to the audience.” Director Shashi Ranjan shared his experience, calling the project “an incredibly rewarding journey.
” He added, “Being invited into the Roshan family's world and entrusted with their legacy is a privilege. It is an honour to bring their story of creativity, courage, and commitment to the world.” Monika Shergill, Vice- President Content, Netflix India added, “We are thrilled to present the story of a family that has touched the hearts of generations of cinema lovers with their timeless melodies and unforgettable tales—The Roshans.

We are deeply honored to share this beautiful and inspiring legacy with the world.” Earlier this year, Rakesh Roshan shared a picture with SRK on Instagram and thanked him for his contribution to the documentary.
