Rolls-Royce calls the Scintilla’s embroidery work “painting with thread,” which includes more than 850,000 individual stitches. For the first time, the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament features a translucent white, marble-like ceramic coating.

The dashboard gallery’s artistic expression, “Celestial Pulse,” is made up of seven metal ribbons, each individually milled from solid aluminum. In the Phantom Scintilla’s Starlight Headliner, more than 1,500 fiber-optic illuminations twinkle in sequence to mimic silk billowing in a breeze. Perforations in the door-panel material impart a wave-like glow when illuminated.

A subtle metallic flake in the paintwork is said to mimic the sparkle of sunlight off the water. All 10 of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Scintilla have been sold. Only three examples of the Phantom Scintilla will come to North America.
