I can definitely attest to being a self-proclaimed pizza lover, but never have I tried my hand at making my very own until now. If you happen to be in Canary Wharf on selected Fridays or Saturdays, you can take part in a two-hour pizza making class with Pizza Pilgrims, where you can have a go at making your own Neapolitan-style pizza. (Image: Emily Davison) We began the experience by getting kitted out with an apron, before heading into the pizza-making space with a large pizza oven, where we were greeted by our chef. Beginning with some appetisers and dips and a welcome drink, we began by learning about some of the best practices to make a pizza, including how to handle the dough and how the dough is made. We then got onto the pizza making, which was actually easier than it looked, where you learn the technique of gently pressing the dough to form the crust before adding your toppings to make a classic Margarita pizza.

I have to say the pizza was delicious, and there is something to be said about making your own pizza and getting to eat it moments after it’s come out of the oven.

We then finished off with a second drink as well as a Nutella pizza for some sweetness, but if you can’t finish everything off they also provide you with boxes to take your spoils home. This experience was a lot of fun and it's definitely something different to do if you’re looking for a fun activity to do in London. Pizza making at Pizza Pilgrims can be booked online on various dates from April to June..
