”It is the LORD who goes before you; he will be with you and will never fail you or forsake you. So do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

”It is the LORD who goes before you; he will be with you and will never fail you or forsake you. So do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 I remember looking down at my newborn sons after their births.

As I counted ten perfect fingers and ten perfect toes I looked in wonder at the tiny faces and wondered how they would impact the world as they grew. I prayed for wisdom as I faced these new responsibilities. What or who would they become? How would they impact our world? I feel sure that Mary, the Mother of Jesus felt that way as she looked down at the baby that had been given to her by God Himself.

How special was he going to be? Each year I am requested to sing the beautiful song “Mary, Did You Know?” It is a song written by Mark Lowry. If you don’t know the song it would behoove you to look it up and ponder the words. The song is asking Mary, the Mother of Jesus, questions that she could not possibly know at the time of His birth.

I have sung this song many times. Yet, this year as I was singing there came a point in the song that I became very emotional at the words. The words flooded a renewed promise to me and for all mankind.

The question in the song was asked, “Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary, did you know that your baby boy will someday rule the nations?” That baby boy that we just celebrated His birth at Christmastime is the Lord of all creation and He will rule all nations. Those of us that have faith and believe that He is coming to rule the nations know that we are one day closer to this promised day. As we go into the New Year 2025 we are going to be going through many changes in our families, our health, the government, in every walk of life.

We need to pray more than ever that others will come to know the peace that only Christ can bring. There is nothing to fear because of the promises that God has given us. So, as you walk into the New Year, put your best foot forward, pray for direction and peace.

There is coming a day where there will be peace forever more! Think about it! From my house to yours, Happy New Year! PRAYER TIME: Please continue to pray for all the flood victims that have lost so much. Pray for those that continue working in rescue and reconstruction efforts. Pray for our world situation.

With the changes in our government it is more important than ever to pray for Israel. Pray for the decision makers and the military of our country. Pray for those grieving for the loss of a loved one.

Pray for those that are facing severe health issues. Pray for those that feel helpless and hopeless that they will find a place of peace. Keep praying for those with the many unspoken requests, and a ray of hope for those in prison.
