This week's pub is nestled between two reservoirs and has a train station on its doorstep. The Strawberry Duck in Entwistle is popular with walkers down to its rural setting and 50-table beer garden . We spoke to Ben Garvin, who is a manager there.
Introduce yourself My name is Ben Garvin, and I've been a manager at the Strawberry Duck for three years. (Image: The Strawberry Duck) What made you want to work at the pub? My employment at a nearby pub over towards Darwen was terminated at short notice because the owner closed it. So, after that, I saw the opportunity had come up to work here.
I'd been to the pub as a customer and saw how busy it can get so it was an easy decision. What's the best thing about working at the pub? The fast-paced environment, dealing with new customers everyday, helping people like giving them directions, or just serving them a quick cup of tea or a coffee, weekends when we're 99 per cent fully booked and all working together as a team. There are plenty of highlights.

I'd say either the Tandoori chicken hanging kebabs, or the Strawberry Duck burger, which contains an Angus burger patty, shredded duck, cooked in gravy on a brioche bun, homemade onion rings, that costs £18.95. What's the draught line-up? Yes, when the weather is nice, that’s when it’s a whole other level of busy, most people come from within a 15-mile radius, and it's handy because you can get the train here.
Do you have any offers? Yes, on a Wednesday night we have a steak offer, where, from 5pm, you can have two steaks and a bottle of wine for £21.95, we're normally fully booked for that. We also have a fish and chip offer on a Friday where you can get two for the price of one, which works out at around £9 each.
