(Image: NQ) What made you want to take over the running of the pub? Well, we opened in June, so it has nearly been a year now, and the idea was that we'd be a local hub in the community. My grandparents used to drink here in the 1920s, so we wanted to revive the spirit that was once there.
Plus, my partner and I have worked in hospitality before. Had you been into the pub as a customer before taking it over? Yes, I'd been in loads, I grew up in the village, so I have a lot of happy memories from the pub. (Image: NQ) What's the most popular dish you serve? The cheese and onion pie without doubt, it's definitely the cheese and onion pie.
Everything we make is homemade. Or steak loaded is also very popular, which is a base of fries topped with steak and a peppercorn sauce. (Image: NQ) What's the best thing about running a pub? I'd say the people and seeing new and returning faces; it's just the general atmosphere that's the best.
Do you have any events on? Yes, we have a quiz from 8.30pm every Tuesday along with bingo. Saturdays are also extremely busy with live singers, and on the last Saturday of the month we have a tribute act, so we've got a Bob Marley one, a Neil Diamond one, an Elvis one, Queen, Lady Gaga; loads of people! The pub also has a dining room (Image: NQ) What's Egerton like? It's fantastic, I grew up here, I went to school here, it's a mixture of young and old and I love the variety of people! What do punters think? One online commenter said: "Lovely pub just reopened recently.
