It’s hour 14 of the longest shift in human history. I’ve officially switched out iced coffee for a protein shake. Sorry, Dr.
Shen. This millennial needs healthier fuel for this.My love, Robby is likely still crying on the floor beneath pictures of animals and precious babies.
Mel and Whitaker look more depleted by the second. Holding out that the mass casualty event nears a close because my entire crew needs to decompress stat! We’re breaking down what happened scene by scene, but if you want my thoughts about the episode, check out our The Pitt Season 1 Episode 14 Review! ( Warrick Page/Max)We open with the clown and the hilarious blond OD gossiping about the shooter possibly being at the hospital. Santos, shockingly, is the voice of reason and tells them to keep all the nurse gossip to a minimum so as not to alarm people.
Buster, the clown, is still shading Whitaker about that damn IO. And you know what? Same, sir. He wants a blanket, but they’re all in Peds, and Santos and Whitaker play Rock, Paper, Scissors over who is going to go to the morgue to get the angry, sad clown a blanket.

One, Santos seems like the type who would want to see dead bodies, so it’s weird that she’s hesitant. Two, is Robby still in there breaking down? What is Whitaker going to walk into, and how will he deal?Dana is still searching for Robby but can’t find him.
Meanwhile, Abbot and Mohan are swamped trying to save people. Mohan is having a hard time trying to figure out a patient and where their bullet wound is. ( Warrick Page/Max)Abbot, badass that he is, says, “Nipples to Navel is No Man’s Land.
” I think I want this on a placard, preferably with Abbot’s face. Did I mention how much I LOVE this man? He’s a freaking rockstar.Abbot says that they need Robby, and Mohan asks Dana, who asks McKay, and NO ONE KNOWS ROBBY IS FREAKING OUT IN THE MORGUE! I don’t know.
Maybe I need a drink instead. My favorite resident, Mel, is speaking to the woman who must still be in shock. She says that she was at the festival with her husband and daughter.
But a bullet went through her arm and her husband’s head. He was DOA. She doesn’t know where her daughter Morgan is.
This poor woman is NOT the shooter, so there goes some of those theories. She’s just in shock. She asks Mel how she deals with the death and carnage.
Unbeknownst to her, she doesn’t realize that this is Mel’s first gosh damn day at this hospital working in this ER.She doesn’t know either! It’s the million-dollar question. Mel says she doesn’t know, but the question deeply affects her.
( Warrick Page/Max)Meanwhile, Pearla is practically in tears as she asks Princess when this is going to end. I want to hug them both! They should be gossiping in Tag-a-long and having fun, not this!My darling, precious Whitaker has finally made it to the morgue and is a stuttering mess because Robby is curled up against the wall, reciting a prayer in Hebrew. Whitaker asks if Robby is okay, but when he doesn’t get a response, he takes his glasses off and goes to him.

But Whitaker, the precious truth-teller that he is, tells Robby that they need HIM out there. Damn straight! He gets up and tells Robby to take his hand.
He demands it and says that Robby has to take his hand because if he doesn’t, they’re fucked. It’s the gentlest of tough love. Robby takes his hand and gets up but pushes Whitaker away.
The poor man is embarrassed about his emotional display. ( Warrick Page/Max)What’s with men at that age being so scared to show vulnerability? Ugh. I want to hug Robby even more.
And I want to hug Whitaker. I also want them to hug each other. It’s been too long of a shift.
Whitaker takes the hint, grabs the blanket for the clown, and tells Robby that he’ll see him out there. He calls him captain and reminds him of his importance in running this ship. It’s a damn good thing Santos didn’t show up.
She is NOT a pep-talk girl.Robby finally takes some deep breaths and gets it together. Our King is back.
Santos asks Whitaker if he’s okay and says that she knows it’s tough with all the bodies. He says that he’s fine. He doesn’t mention Robby because Whitaker is the best.
Robby comes out, thanks Esme, who checks in on him, and tells Mel and Whitaker that they’re doing well.Gloria checks in on Robby and asks if he’s okay. She says that more blood and supplies are coming.
Someone mentioned that they had already donated, and Javadi said she couldn’t give blood. ( Warrick Page/Max)Gloria asks about the blood donations and starts criticizing him for using unscreened blood. She also brings up the chatter about the possible shooter in the hospital and the police presence.
Robby goes off on Gloria, curses her out, and says that they all need to go back to work. He makes a scene, which Dana and Abbot notice, and Abbot reminds him to calm down a bit.Langdon and Dana figure out that Robby must have told Jake about Leah.
Dana goes over to hug and comfort Jake.11 Midseason Replacements That Became Broadcast TV’s Biggest Hitsby Whitney EvansFierce & Fearless: Faith Mitchell’s Best Moments on Will Trentby Laura NowakOnce You Start, You Can’t Stop: 13 of The Most Rewatchable TV Marathonsby Jasmine BluMeanwhile, Robby checks on Ellis and Shen. They say it’s been 12 minutes since the last call.
Shen says things have been quiet, something Ellis shushes him about. Seriously, Shen, I love you, but you NEVER say that!Sure enough, a Navy corpsman who got shot in the leg at the festival drives a car practically into everything, and he brings a guy who is blue to the hospital so they can look at him. He stayed back to help as many people as possible, but then he passed out.
( Warrick Page/Max)Pearla tells McKay that someone from the courthouse is calling her, and she says not now because she’s too busy saving lives. I support McKay in everything that she does, but maybe if she takes that call, she’ll avoid the Po Po coming for her over that stupid ankle monitor. Her father shows up, and we have a Chucky reunion because it’s also the actress’s actual father, and this is the cutest and coolest thing ever.
Langdon looks lost and still hasn’t had his moment with Robby, who just got preoccupied with another patient. Abbot sends him to help Ellis, who is finally inside and doing some stellar work. But he shows up at the same time as Santos.
Baby, this is awkward as hell! They are NOT happy to see each other, and Ellis is picking up on all the vibes.Lupe recognizes the guy who brought in the other person; it’s the woman whose husband died and who was looking for her brother. Lupe says that she can bring the sister in to see her brother, and Mel asks her to look for the traumatized woman’s daughter, too.
( Warrick Page/Max)Ellis runs the call with the guy who is blue. She encourages Sntos to figure out what’s going on with him, but Langdon also does the same. Santos stops answering, so when can she ask if Ellis is running things or Langdon? Since last she checked, he wasn’t supposed to be there.
Santos and that mouth. UGH! Ellis reminds her of that pesky hierarchy Santos loathes, and she finally mentions what the guy has. Dana calls Langdon away for another call.
Ellis inquires what Santos’ beef is with Langdon, but she doesn’t get around to answering. The Jig Is Up for Kathy Bates’s Matty on Matlock Season 1 Episode 16by Joshua PlemingThe Pitt Season 1 Episode 14 Delivers Penultimate Emotional Punch Ahead of Finaleby Jasmine BluGeorgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 1 Episode 15’s Sweet Connor Story Was Worth Waiting Forby Jack OriMcKay brings her dad in to be with her son. Team Papa McKay.The navy corpsman, Ryan’s oxygen is tanking. His sister comes in to see him, and she tells him to fight for her.
He cries because he tries to save her husband and wonders if he’s okay. ( Warrick Page/Max)Langdon stops by to talk to Jake. He tells him that Robby did all he could to save Leah, and if he couldn’t save her, no one else could.
It’s a sweet moment, and he doesn’t know that Robby is watching him say this, so he’s not doing it to impress Robby. Oh, Langdon. I love you, mate.
Gloria tells Robby and the others that they found the shooter. He killed himself by the river and had a bag of guns. S.
W.A.T.
cleared the festival, so they’re finally over the hump. Gloria thanked them for saving everyone.Javadi is in awe that everyone is so calm now.
The shift changes are as usual, and their shift is finally over.Shen goes to get Mel from outside. She no longer needs to be out there triaging.
Of course, this dork mentions that it’s quiet again, and BOOM, another person comes careening into the place. The ambulance rolls up with two kids, a teen, and his younger sister. ( Warrick Page/Max)Mel talks to her sister.
She says that her parents are at the movies, and they can’t reach them. Her brother gets sleepy and doesn’t wake up. Princess stays with Georgia as they work on finding her parents.
Mel joins Shen in the room with Flynn, the patient. They try to figure out what’s wrong with him. He’s in sepsis.
He has a rash on his legs.Robby tells McKay to meet him in the room with David and tells her that he is right about David not doing it. But let’s be real, better safe than sorry.

McKay asks him about the list he made of girls he wants to hurt. David doesn’t take the news well that he has to stay there for 72 hours on a psych hold. (Warrick Page/Max)He gets loud and aggressive when McKay speaks and cusses her out.
I don’t really understand why Robby wanted McKay in there, but whatever.Ellis checks in on Santos and gives her something to eat. She tells Santos that she needs to work on her bedside manner and quizzes her.
Santos seems frazzled because she’s so tired, but Ellis reminds her that none of that matters.Jamie, Jake’s mother, shows up. He updates her on everything that happened.
She’s emotional. He says that Jake is blaming him for not saving her, and Jamie reminds him that it’s not his fault and that Jke loves him. Dana takes her to see Jake.
Robby shows up to check on Shen and Mel’s patient. He diagnoses the kid with measles. They have to find the sister, keep her contained, and notify people in case there is a measles outbreak.
Ellis again comments on Santos and Langdon having beef when it’s chilly in there when they have to give their patient meds.Robby talks to Georgia about when her brother got sick. She says that she was sick too a week ago.
They went to Orlando a few weeks ago. They’re past the infection period. Robby sends the brother for a head CT.
( Warrick Page/Max)Mel takes the daughter to see her traumatized mother when Lupe finds her.Mateo tells Javadi to take a seat because of the adrenaline crash after a big event. He gives her a juice box and tells her that she’s a rockstar.
She’s so smitten. Honestly, same, girl.Walsh is put off by Abbot’s cowboy antics when he talks her through getting an air bubble out.
Mohan seems torn between her two superiors arguing. She goes in and does what Abbot tells her to do and successfully saves the patient. He said he wouldn’t have done it himself.

(Warrick Page/Max)OK, Robby is being really hard on McKay when his feelings are valid. I don’t like it!They finally get Max, the Blue Boy, better. Santos determines that it could have been poppers, and Langdon wants to know what it was, if not that.
Mel starts crying after she reunites the traumatized woman with her daughter. Robby checks in with her, and she apologizes for getting emotional. He tells her never to apologize for caring about patients.

The parents say that their kids are not vaccinated for Measles. Shen says they have to do a spinal tap on Flynn and talk about the issues with his brain. The mother says that she read about paralysis because of spinal taps.
(Warrick Page/Max)Robby shoots that down. Mel also reassures her that the procedure is safe. Robby is aggravated as they talk about how the death rate is high with what Flynn is dealing with.
The father wants the spinal tap, but the mother is still refusing, and Robby looks like he’s about to snap.Honestly, if we need things with Robby going off on a patient, I’m here for it!
