Many people would think TV presenters are used to mingling with celebs but, for our very own Alex Jones , it appears it's not quite the case. The One Show presenter, 48, recently admitted she got into a bit of a pickle when she spotted Steven Spielberg while on holiday. The Hollywood film legend, 78, is known for directing huge movies like Jurassic Park, Schindler's List and Munich, which is perhaps why the Welsh TV host was so stunned when she noticed him in the crowd.
She recently opened up about the hilarious moment on Alan Carr's Life's A Beach podcast where she was talking about spotting famous people on holidays. The confession left Carr in stitches, and she couldn't help but laugh herself when she recalled the tale. Years ago, she explained she was staying in Sorrento and she went on a day trip to Capri.
When she was exploring, Alex said she noticed Spielberg sitting outside a hotel. He was sitting outside writing, and she pointed him out to her now husband to which he replied: "Don't be so ridiculous". But, determined to prove her point, it appears she took drastic action.
She told Alan: "Well, I climbed the fence just to have a look. I did - I climbed the fence, and my foot got stuck in, you know the sort of hexagon-shaped kind of fence, and I couldn't. "He turned around, and all he could see was somebody trying to get their foot out, and I had to get it out in the end, and leave my flip flop there, and just take my foot with me.
It was undignified, Alan." Alex left the podcast host in stitches with her hilarious tale, and it led him to ask one burning question. When asked if the Hollywood icon has ever been on The One Show, Alex replied: "He did come on, but I didn't mention it.
"I thought he'd think 'what's this two penny show I'm on?' if I said that, so I didn't." But Carr said it would have been amazing if he had brought the flip flop, and there had been a "Cinderella moment". The TV host admitted it would have been "great telly", and fans said they loved the podcast episode.
It was a tale that left listeners super amused. One person said: "Lovely episode! After last week’s, it was such a pleasure to listen to Alex and Alan this week." A second wrote: "Not the flip flop.
" Meanwhile, others just reacted with a range of laughing emojis. It's clear Alex's tale gave people a good giggle. You may not believe it, but Alex has actually been co-hosting The One Show since 2010.
Since then, her career has gone from strength to strength. Meanwhile, Alan Carr's Life’s A Beach Podcast is super popular, and a new episode airs every Monday. People love tuning in to listen to all sorts of celebrity stories.
During the show, various guests join Carr to discuss travel and their favourite places in the world. You can find out more here ..
