Amble was crowned among the top 10 'seaside staycation' locations by travel experts at Simply Sea Views, joining Tynemouth as one of the top North East destinations to visit this year. Having also recently been championed by property firm Garrington as a "tranquil yet vibrant place to live", there's no time like 2025 to pay a visit to this charming town that's perfectly positioned for exploring all that Northumberland has to offer.
Instantly recognisable by its brightly coloured beach huts, Amble prides itself on being the "friendliest port in England", according to Visit Northumberland . The town may be small but there's certainly no shortage of things to do for tourists looking to spend a day or weekend here, from its cosy cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs to its array of picturesque country walks all along the coast. With Puffin Cruises sailing from the harbour over to Coquet Island, an RSPB bird sanctuary which is home to some 36,000 seabirds, Amble is the perfect destination for wildlife enthusiasts, while visitors can fully immerse themselves in nature on a six-mile circular walk over to the ancient village of Warkworth and its medieval castle, church and hermitage.
