The upcoming film is a reboot of the original “The Naked Gun” movies, which starred the late Leslie Nielsen from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s. Three of these slapstick-style comedies were produced, and they consistently improved with each subsequent sequel. I do remember looking forward to watching Leslie Nielsen-starring movies in cinemas after getting to watch “The Naked Gun” on a channel because Leslie Nielsen, for a long time, was the king of comedy spoofs/slapstick comedies.

These were some of the most fun, entertaining, and enjoyable comedy spoofs and slapstick movies that I had the pleasure of watching. I often saw them on movie channels, and as a child, I vividly remember the advertisements for these films in various Marvel comic book titles, so the memories are quite clear. “The Naked Gun” series of movies is comparable to National Lampoon productions, but it primarily focuses on law enforcement and the misadventures of one cop.

READ : What is your favorite Val Kilmer movie? This is an exciting reboot, as I never imagined that in today’s era. It presents another beloved IP to be showcased, regardless of how it ultimately turns out. The positive developments in Hollywood, particularly regarding the revival of past popular intellectual properties, signal that we are experiencing exciting times once more in the film industry.

Well, now, here is a bit of the downside of this one. Once I discovered that Seth MacFarlane was the producer, my heart sank! My expectations diminished because if this film revolves around getting **** and doing stupid stuff because of it, then it’s not for me. After all, the last time I watched anything in theaters featuring Seth MacFarlane, whether as an actor or producer, was “Ted.

” I have had my fill of his raunchy, sometimes sickening, and “Family Guy” style of comedy, which does not resonate with me and is not something I would want to experience again in theaters. But who knows how this movie will turn out until you have watched it? The official teaser trailer is not even the tip of the iceberg of what the movie could be all about. It is meant to always only whet the appetite of the moviegoer.

Try watching the official teaser trailer, which opens with a bank heist. Everything — from the original score to the cinematography — initially makes you feel as though you are watching a Michael Bay production or something more aligned with a straight-edged action movie. However, once you see that little girl with the lollipop enter the bank, and the bewildered bank robbers approach her, out of nowhere comes Liam Neeson! Haha! He obliterates the bank robbers, breaks the fourth wall, and stares directly at the camera, declaring that this is the new version of “The Naked Gun”! That says it all! How can you go wrong with a film when its star fits the role perfectly? “The Naked Gun” (2025) features Liam Neeson, one of my all-time favorite actors.

I have been a fan of his ever since I first saw his superhero-esque performance in Sam Raimi’s “Darkman” and later in his emotionally charged roles in the “Taken” trilogy, which solidified his relevance in contemporary cinema. I believe he is the ideal choice to lead this reboot of “The Naked Gun” (2025) because he embodies the strong qualities of a detective, police officer, and, at times, a vigilante. His remarkable ability to convincingly portray these action-oriented roles lends significant credibility to his performances, making him an excellent yet pleasantly surprising fit for the onscreen character of “Lt.

Frank Drebin Jr.,” a bumbling yet good-hearted police officer in this reboot of “The Naked Gun” just like his late father, “Lt. Frank Drebin,” famously portrayed by the late Leslie Nielsen in the original three “The Naked Gun” movies.

Moreover, Liam Neeson is a veteran actor with an extensive and impressive filmography. Recently, he has become primarily known for his roles in action movies, particularly due to the aforementioned “Taken” trilogy. This success has led to him being cast in similar films; however, he continues to deliver convincing performances that blend action, suspense, and elements of a thriller.

Indeed, time has not diminished his acting abilities, which demonstrates his commitment to his craft. While he has dabbled in comedy, he has never starred in a full-length film within the slapstick genre. Given his advanced age, this opportunity presents a refreshing change for him, allowing him to enjoy a lighter role without the burden of heavy action scenes, intense sequences, and dark themes.

This 180-degree shift will provide him with a well-deserved break and may reignite his passion for creating more comedic films that appeal to a broader yet expansive younger audience. With a very masculine male lead, it is essential to have an actor of the opposite sex who can match his presence, ideally someone with a substantial career of her own. When the legendary Pamela Anderson was cast, it felt like a perfect fit.

Although she has not yet appeared in the official teaser trailer, I am confident she will be featured in the official movie trailer. Early indications suggest that this casting choice is promising. I have watched several late-night interviews with Liam Neeson in recent months following the completion of filming for “The Naked Gun” (2025), and he has expressed nothing but praise and positivity regarding Pamela Anderson’s performance.

Liam Neeson has repeatedly stated that Pamela Anderson is going to steal this movie in a good way. High praise from a respected actor in Hollywood is significant, and I am happy to see Pamela Anderson making a comeback, as she truly deserves it. Additionally, she has always been the best “Baywatch” babe of all time, and a film like this is an excellent opportunity for her, as she has a genuine talent for comedy.

This is shaping up to be a truly entertaining and fun popcorn flick! For sure, this will be better than the live-adaptation of “Snow White,” right? There’s no way “The Naked Gun” (2025) could be as horrendous as that box office bomb.
