The most common crimes reported in an area of Bolton in the space of a year has been revealed. The provisional statistics were released by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) last month following a Freedom of Information request into a crime dataset from the most recent 12-month period within a one kilometre radius of Windyhill Drive in Daubhill. The GMP response to the request, which was made by an unnamed organisation, notes that the data is based on what police systems currently hold, following one of the largest IT infrastructure changes by the force in July 2019.
The data contains crimes with a creation date between March 1, 2024 and February 28 this year. A disclaimer from the police also highlights that the address recorded may not be where the crime happened . The following data reveals the number of crimes committed in the area during this time, based on 22 categories.
The most common reported crime by far in the area was violence without injury, with 225 alleged incidents over the time period. Stalking and harassment was the second highest, with 199 recorded cases. This was followed by public order offences, which totalled to 115 incidents.
