The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur is a practical man. And on Tuesday, Emdur surprised guest host Dr Chris Brown with a practical guide on how to host the show. Emdur in on leave, working on duties for top-rated quiz show, The Chase Australia.

A jovial Chris Brown then held up a handwritten manual, titled: “Larry’s Morning Show Prep Routine.” “It’s incredible artistry if you look at it — his sister is a world-renowned artist, and this is what he creates,” Brown said, laughing.
Brown then went through the routine, which included hot tips like, “look interested” between 9am and 10am, “order a coffee” at 10.05am, and “nod at anything Kylie says” at 10.30am.
By 11am, Emdur wrote to “book a restaurant for lunch” before wrapping-up his workday with “agreeing with anything Kylie says” between 11.15am and 11.45am.
Finally, he ends his workday with trying to come up with a reason “not to go to the post-show meeting” and thanking Gillies “for an awesome show”. “I’ve got a good couple of hours ahead, based around this,” Brown said, laughing. Brown and Gillies then laughed as they spoke of how Hollywood star Jacob Elordi said liked Gillies’ shoes, with the two hosts both appearing a little starstruck.
Emdur will be off for the rest of the week. He became host of The Chase Australia in 2021. Emdur is having a career high at the moment, having won the highly coveted Gold Logie last year.
He ended up getting a tattoo live on The Morning Show, with the initials of his fellow nominees, which included Tony Armstrong, Andy Lee, Sonia Kruger, Robert Irwin, Julia Morris, and Asher Keddie. Reflecting on his Gold Logie speech, Larry said it was a “surreal” moment in his career. “I knew I needed to thank my work family and my family family — I knew I wanted to thank the other nominees,” Emdur said.
