The Martial Artist Explores The Inner Struggles of People: Farhan Tahir

In conversation with actor Farhan Tahir about his upcoming film, The Martial Artist. My interest in playing Ibby’s grandfather was piqued because he is the catalyst in Ibby’s life that helps Ibby's spiritual center. Baba is the mirror Ibby needs to find his soul and his purpose in life.

This film is very close to my heart. Shaz’s vision and creativity are unparalleled. There are numerous films that deal with the immigrant experience, but they usually focus on the rift between parents and children but seldom do we explore the inner struggle of people.



It’s always a challenge to infuse the uniqueness of a character. Most times the characters are written with a general understanding of a culture but it is the actor’s job to lend the colors that make it into a vivid and relatable character. I will be shooting a Marvel TV series in March and filming in Egypt.

We have also set up a production house in Pakistan which will offer a full suite of entertainment..
