BELL: CARNEY ON COLLISION COURSE WITH DANIELLE SMITH If Liberal Leader Mark Carney wins the election and remains prime minister and ignores Albertans, he is in for a fight with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.
According to columnist Rick Bell, smart money will be in a battle that Carney will not be able to stickhandle around, so he had better buckle up. Bell says it appears Carney is not taking Smith seriously. Read more from Bell here.
WHERE THE PARTY LEADERS WILL BE TODAY Liberal Leader Mark Carney will be putting on his prime minister hat Friday, suspending his election campaign again to deal with the fallout of the U.S. tariffs.
Carney is expected to chair a meeting this morning with his cabinet committee on Canada-U.S. relations and national security.
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will also be in Ottawa today, where he’s scheduled to speak at the Broadbent Institute’s 2025 Progress Summit. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is set to hold a press conference in St. Catharines, Ont.
