Two years ago, HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us video game proved to be just as potent on television as it was in the original video game. The Mandalorian ’s Pedro Pascal headlined the series as Joel, a smuggler in a post-apocalyptic world who accepted a job to escort a teenage girl named Ellie ( Game of Thrones ’ Bella Ramsey ) across the country in the hope that her immunity to the Cordyceps infection could lead to a cure for the virus that turns humans into zombie-like creatures. Along the way, Joel and Ellie formed a father-daughter bond, and they both killed other people who threatened their lives.
