‘The Last Of Us’ Cast And Characters Across Seasons 1 And 2 Of Videogame Adaptation

The Last Of Us Season 2 will add several new faces and characters to the story established in January 2023 when Season 1 began to unfold. In Season 1, we met the dynamic duo of Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) who drove most of the plot and action of Season 1. Guest stars in the first season included Melanie Lynskey, Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett, Nico Parker and more.

New names attached to Season 2 include Kaitlyn Dever, Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Wright, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Tati Gabrielle and Danny Ramirez to name a few. She was bitten twice in Season 1, and while she shows signs of having been infected, she did not get sick with the disease or overtaken to turn into a zombie.



Season 1 saw Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) accompany Ellie across the country to try and get her to labs where they could use her blood to develop a cure for the fungus. Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller Image Credit: HBO Joel Miller was a contractor living in Texas when the outbreak of cordyceps struck the United States. He lost his daughter Sarah (Nico Parker) that night in a freak accident of sorts, and his brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna) split from him in the aftermath of Outbreak Day. Then he was randomly assigned to accompany Ellie west from Boston to see if she could find the people capable of turning her miracle blood into a vaccine.

He also starred as The Mandalorian ’s titular character. He played Javi Gutierrez in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) which was a parody of Nicolas Cage movies starring Cage, and more recently, he voiced Fink in The Wild Robot (2024) and starred as General Acacius in Gladiator II (2024).

Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller Image Credit: Max Tommy Miller is Joel’s younger brother. He worked on contracting jobs with Joel ahead of the cordyceps outbreak, but the brothers were split up when Joel ended up in Boston while Tommy first joined the rebel Fireflies and then outran them to Cody, Wyoming. Tommy is married to Maria (TK).

Gabriel Luna is known for portraying Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.

They met in Wyoming when her group — not Fireflies nor FEDRA — found him in the wilderness. She used to by an Assistant District Attorney before Outbreak Day. She was elected to the council of their commune hidden away in snowy Wyoming.

Rutina Wesley starred as Tara Thornton in True Blood , Nova Bordelon in Queen Sugar and Selby in 13 Sins (2014). Kaitlyn Dever as Abby Anderson Image Credit: Max Kaitlyn Dever will portray Abby Anderson , a young woman after Joel in Season 2 for vengence. Abby is one of the game’s two playable central characters alongside Ellie.

Isabela Merced as Dina Image Credit: Max Isabela Merced will portray Dina, a new romantic interest for Bella Ramsey’s Ellie and ex-girlfriend of Jesse (Young Mazino). Merced is known for her roles as Lizzy in Instant Family (2018), Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018), Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019) and Izabella in Transformers: The Last Knight (2017).

His conservative outer shell and hardened outlook on life was softened when Frank (Murray Bartlett) fell into one of the holes he had dug outside his home.

The pair struck up a love story for the ages. Ashley Johnson as Anna Williams Image Credit: Max Anna was Ellie’s mother. She gave birth to Ellie while running from a stray Infected in labor. The Infected bit Anna right as she gave birth to Ellie, meaning cordyceps grew with her as she aged because it happened before Anna cut the cord.

This is what gives Ellie natural immunity, which is not the same as in the game. Anna is the one who asked Marlene to take Ellie and find someone to care for her. It was her dying wish.

Merle Dandridge also voiced Marlene in The Last Of Us videogame. She lent her voice to the Half-Life 2 videogame as Alyx Vance. She played Fire Chief Natasha Ross in Station 19 and Zarina Killebrew in Apple’s Truth Be Told .
