Toby the horse will take part in this year's act of Remembrance to remember the great sacrifices made. He will be at Bolton's Remembrance Concert today, November 7, at the Albert Halls. Toby will be stood at the entrance, meeting and greeting guests as they arrive for the concert, in honour the war dead.

His handler, Debbie McAfee, runs Horsez on Wheelz, which brings ponies to parties, events and allows people to ride on. She wanted Toby to represent fallen animals as depicted in the novel, know film and play, War Horse. Debbie said: "He will be at the Remembrance Concert , he is going to be at the entrance to the Albert Halls, doing the meet and greets.

Owner Debbie McAfee (Image: Horsez on Wheelz) "It's a business I started about a year and a half ago, we do mobile pony parties, we go to people and do parties at their houses, weddings, any events really. "I have said I'll dedicate a few hours to doing charity events, giving back to the community. We do a lot of these charity events, and I make the outfits for him. People of all ages, from babies to older people, they absolutely love him. "One residential home we went to, one old lady had never touched a horse in her life, she was petrified, but she came over and stroked him, and was proud of herself.

"He is really, really good. When we got him, he was in quite a sorry state, he was underweight, but we saved him and it is nice he is giving something back, putting smiles on people's faces. "They (the council) wanted him to be on the Remembrance parade, but he might scare what with the guns going off.

But they wanted him to be part of it, so he is doing this concert." Debbie and Toby will also be at Astley Bridge Asda at 11.30am on Saturday for a Children in Need meet and greet, where he will be dressed as Pudsey.
