CHARLESTOWN — The General Stanton Inn will bring back its "Giant Summer Outdoor Flea Market" this summer, beginning on Memorial Day weekend.

CHARLESTOWN — The General Stanton Inn will bring back its "Giant Summer Outdoor Flea Market" this summer, beginning on Memorial Day weekend. The flea market, which first opened in 1965, will be held each Sunday through Labor Day Weekend, from 9 a.m.

to 2 p.m. on the inn’s 4-acre fairgrounds just off Route 1 in Charlestown.



“This year’s flea market will include several exciting new enhancements,” said Jackie Moore, inn co-owner. “This summer we will open a full-service clam shack and a provide a huge outdoor tent make to make the customer experience even better.” “I’ve sold antiques at the market in the past and have always done well," said Mary Jane Ferland, owner of Granary Antiques, in a statement.

"I enjoy the crowds and meeting other vendors." Vendors, who are invited to rent spaces for $50 each time, can send an email to [email protected] .

Applications are now available. The inn has also announced a summer 2025 concert series and a Friday Farmers’ market. The concert series, which will include six concerts, will open on June 21 with a free live music event called "The General’s Summer Kick-off Party," scheduled to be held from noon to 8 p.

m. The next concert, billed as "BlueGrassFest" will be held on July 12 and will be followed by "CountryFest" on July 19, "JazzFest" Aug. 9, "BluesFest" on Aug.

23 and "FolkFest" on Sept. 20. "Charlestown is a fantastic place to visit, and this outdoor concert series is another great reason to enjoy Southern Rhode Island this summer," said Heather Paliotta, president of the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce, in a news release from the inn.

Each concert will feature a known headline band and be supported with local music favorites. Tickets will go on sale this spring. “Music lovers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy our park-like, shaded grounds," said inn co-owner and general manager David Moore.
