Channel 5's new drama The Feud follows a couple who live a seemingly idyllic suburban life as they cherish strong friendships with their neighbours. However, things quickly spiral out of control when they decide to install a brand-new kitchen extension. "As objections to the plans are raised, unexpected skeletons and life-threatening secrets begin to rise to the surface," teases the official synopsis for the series.
"The Feud reveals how [an] aspirational dream turns sharply into obsession, paranoia, and fear. One decision sets in motion events that have unforeseeable consequences for both [the couple] and the people living on the street." The first episode of The Feud is due to debut on Channel 5 at 9pm tonight (April 14).
The following five episodes will continue airing at the same time. Here's a rundown of the cast. Jill Halfpenny leads the cast as Emma, who moves into her dream home with her husband and daughter.
Jill first rose to fame on BBC drama series Byker Grove, beore landing roles on various soaps including Coronation Street , EastEnders and Waterloo Road. Speaking about her new role, Jill said: "I love playing people who invite chaos into life to divert from the problem. It's chaos.
They tend to create a huge amount of destruction and complications which is great TV." Rupert Penry-Jones plays Emma's husband John. The actor is known for his performances as Adam Carter in Spooks, Clive Reader in Silk, DI Joseph Chandler in Whitechapel, and Mr Quinlan in The Strain.
Megan Trower plays Emma and John's daughter Beth. As well as appearing in a number of local theatre productions, Megan is also known for her role in the second season of Ridley. Ray Fearon plays Alan, one of the couple's neighbours.
Ray notably played garage mechanic Nathan Cooper on Coronation Street , before landing roles in Cleaner, Fleabag and Silk. Amy Nuttall plays Alan's wife Sonia, who enjoys socialising and gossiping with other occupants of the street. However, it soon emerges that Sonia is harbouring a secret of her own.
Amy notably played Choe Atkinson on Emmerdale between 2000 and 2005, and also appeared as housemaid Ethel Parks in Downton Abbey. James Fleet plays older resident Derek, who he describes as a "deeply unpleasant" and "horrible" man. The actor is most famous for his role as Tom in the 1994 British romantic comedy film, Four Weddings and a Funeral.
He also appeared as Hugo Horton in The Vicar of Dibley. Tessa Peak-Jones plays Derek's wife Barbara, who is dealing with an "extreme" battle behind closed doors. Tessa is known for her role as Raquel in BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, as well as appearing in Grantchester, Doctors and Unforgotten.
Jamie-Lee O'Donnell plays "destructive" police officer PC Gallagher. Jamie-Lee notably played Michelle Mallon in Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls, before landing roles in Screw and folk horror film Unwelcome. Larry Lamb plays Emma's "wheeler-dealer" father Terry.
Larry notably played Archie Mitchell in EastEnders , as well as Mick Shipman in hit comedy series Gavin & Stacey. He also appeared on I'm a Celebrity ..

He has appeared in several hit TV shows including Holby City, Doctor Who, Peep Show, The Inbetweeners and The Durrells. Chris Gascoyne plays "intimidating" builder Lee. Chris is best known for his role as Peter Barlow in Coronation Street .
The Feud marks the soap star's first role since leaving the cobbles for an "extended break" in December 2023, after playing Peter across several stints since 2000. The Feud will premiere on Channel 5 at 9pm on Monday, April 14.
