The Feud cast as Coronation Street and Derry Girls stars lead new Channel 5 thriller

Channel 5's new thriller The Feud follows a couple who are embroiled in a neighbourly argument when they plan to extend their kitchen

Channel 5's new drama The Feud centres around a couple who live a seemingly perfect suburban life and enjoy close relationships with their neighbours. However, chaos soon ensues when they decide to add a new kitchen extension to their home. "As objections to the plans are raised, unexpected skeletons and life-threatening secrets begin to rise to the surface," the official series synopsis hints.

"The Feud reveals how [an] aspirational dream turns sharply into obsession, paranoia, and fear. One decision sets in motion events that have unforeseeable consequences for both [the couple] and the people living on the street." The first episode of The Feud is set to premiere on Channel 5 at 9pm tonight (April 14).



The subsequent five episodes will continue airing at the same time. Here's a look at the cast, reports the Express . Jill Half penny as Emma Barnett Jill Halfpenny takes the lead as Emma, who moves into her dream home with her husband and daughter.

Jill initially gained recognition on BBC drama series Byker Grove, before securing roles on various soaps including Coronation Street, EastEnders and Waterloo Road. Discussing her new role, Jill stated: "I love playing people who invite chaos into life to divert from the problem. It's chaos.

They tend to create a huge amount of destruction and complications which is great TV." Rupert Penry-Jones as John Barnett Rupert Penry-Jones steps into the role of Emma's husband, John. Best known for his portrayal of Adam Carter in Spooks, Rupert has also been lauded for his work as Clive Reader in Silk, DI Joseph Chandler in Whitechapel, and Mr Quinlan in The Strain.

Megan Trower as Beth Barnett Megan Trower plays Emma and John's daughter, Beth. Alongside her appearances in local theatre, Megan made an impression in the second season of Ridley. Ray Fearon as Alan Ray Fearon joins the cast as Alan, a neighbour to the central couple.

With a history of portraying Nathan Cooper, the memorable garage mechanic on Coronation Street, Ray has since graced screens with roles in Cleaner, Fleabag, and Silk. Amy Nuttall as Sonia Amy Nuttall plays Alan's wife, Sonia, who is a social butterfly in the neighbourhood, renowned for engaging in chatter with neighbours. But it's not long until audiences uncover that Sonia is concealing a secret of her own.

Amy notably played Chloe Atkinson on Emmerdale from 2000 to 2005, as well as housemaid Ethel Parks in Downton Abbey. James Fleet as Derek James Fleet takes on the role of Derek, an older neighbour who is described as a "deeply unpleasant" and "horrible" individual. James is distinguished for his role as Tom in the beloved 1994 British rom-com Four Weddings and a Funeral and as Hugo Horton in the classic sitcom The Vicar of Dibley.

Tessa Peak-Jones as Barbara Tessa Peak-Jones stars as Barbara, Derek's spouse, who is embroiled in a profound battle behind the scenes. Tessa is celebrated for her portrayal of Raquel in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, and has also featured in Grantchester, Doctors, and Unforgotten. Jamie-Lee O'Donnell as PC Gallagher Jamie-Lee O'Donnell plays "destructive" police officer PC Gallagher.

Jamie-Lee gained fame as Michelle Mallon in the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls, and went on to secure roles in Screw and the folk horror movie Unwelcome. Larry Lamb as Terry Larry Lamb plays Emma's "wheeler-dealer" dad Terry. Larry is renowned for his roles as Archie Mitchell in EastEnders and Mick Shipman in the beloved comedy Gavin and Stacey.

Get Me Out of Here! back in 2016. Alex Macqueen as Nick Alex Macqueen portrays "oddball" neighbour, Nick. His acting credits span high-profile TV series such as Holby City, Doctor Who, Peep Show, The Inbetweeners, and The Durrells.

Chris Gascoyne as Lee Chris Gascoyne plays "intimidating" builder Lee. Chris is best known for his role as Peter Barlow in Coronation Street. The Feud marks the soap star's first role since leaving the cobbles for an "extended break" in December 2023, after playing Peter across several stints since 2000.

The Feud will premiere on Channel 5 at 9pm on Monday, April 14.
