With 11 matches played, the Toffees are 16th in the Premier League with just two wins to their name, . Ahead of Everton’s clash against Brentford at Goodison Park on Saturday (23 November), Dyche was involved in a heated press conference at Finch Farm, in which he hit out at external panic about his team’s performances. , Dyche suggested that even when things are going well, there’s a negative spin on his side.

Paul Quinn, who’s known as The Esk on social media, knows the Blues inside out and he thinks that Dyche’s performance in front of the press on Thursday suggested he’s a man who’s feeling the heat at Goodison Park. “Sean Dyche’s press conference showed a man under extreme pressure,” said on 21 November. “We’ve seen the signs from other managers in recent years.

“[It’s] not good when the focus shifts from being about the team to the manager’s personal justifications.” Dyche is feeling the pressure, there’s no doubt about that. Evertonians are understandably fed up with the results this season but the most worrying aspect is that for a lot of the campaign, the Blues have actually played quite well.

And that’s where the major worry lies. Despite doing so well in some games, Everton just haven’t got it in them to get results, which suggests that the players are trying their hardest but something just isn’t quite right with the way they’re being told to play. That, or there’s a serious lack of talent in the side.

Based on the way Everton have gone about their transfer business in recent years, it’s likely that this squad of players is simply of the standard you’d expect to see in a relegation battle. Sure, there are some stars in there but even the current bottom-three – Crystal Palace, Wolves and Southampton – have some stand-out players who wouldn’t look out of place in a top-half team. Farhad Moshiri is unlikely to sack Dyche now.

and Moshiri won’t do anything to rock the boat too much before he sneaks out of the fire exit at Goodison. But once Friedkin is in power, who knows what might happen to the coaching staff? In other Everton news, . .
